Adding to our resources
Our resources page on the site is getting longer! Since the visitors of foldfactory run the gamut between design and print industry professionals and students, I thought it was really important to offer resources to help both sides of the industry. Our resources page now lists comprehensive information about folding machine technology, suggests a list of experienced bindery consultants and links to the Binding Industries Association’s Findabindery resource. For designers, I have links to some of the most comprehensive binding and finishing resources, glossaries, illustrations, and enewsletters offered by printers and binderies who have generously posted their valuable information. If you have anything to add, please send it to me.

Speaking of resources…
I’ve just been bashing about on the ‘net looking for some inspiration for truly innovative folds for … presentation folders! So of course I came over to see what might be here on foldfactory.com, because I get the Fold of the Week (fabulous, I might add).
BUT I see lots of info/discussion about folds for brochures and direct mail pieces, which is all good, but what about presentation folders? I have a new client who’s in IT, and we don’t want the “same old, same old” for them, but they need me to design a presentation folder with pockets. Thing is, I’m not seeing anything much new out here except for Corporate Image’s glueless pocket folder, which I remembered from last year’s HOW conference in Boston, and is nice. But this leaves me wondering…
What’s out there with respect to resources for innovative POCKET FOLDERS?

Jan - try this company, Colad. They’re pretty awesome. We get a lot of questions about this, and we’re actually doing something about it. We’re partnering to provide more resources and (hopefully) templates for pocketfolders and packaging over the next few months:
