How it works
To be able to fully experience the foldfactory.com community and to create templates, you must first become a member. Becoming a member at foldfactory.com is a fast and easy. Simply create a username and password and fill out a few fields of information and you're in! Having an account gives you free access to articles, information, blogs, forums, specials and much more.

To build templates, log in and click the "Build Templates" button and you will be taken directly to the 3-step user interface. Follow the steps to create your custom template. Once you have entered your custom preferences, you may save your template preferences to download the template at another time, or you may immediately download the template.

To download templates, you must first purchase points. You can do this in the "Shop" area of the site. Points can be bought in any quantity, and are available in bundles at a discount. Each template costs one point, and the point is subtracted from your account at download. So, as long as you have a valid member account, you can make and manage as many templates as you want and you will not be charged for them until you choose to download them. Buy Points now!

Using your foldfactory.com template
Once the Build Template button has been clicked, foldfactory.com instantly builds your template in InDesign. The name of the FOLDRite™ folding style will be identified in the bottom slug area, and the template will be two pages—side A and side B of the folded piece. If you only intend to print on one side of the piece, simply delete the second page of the document.

If you look at the Layers palette, you'll notice that your template is initiated with three layers. These layers organize the fold marks and panel cues that are visible in the slug area, and the fold guides that sit on the page (Note: if the panel cues are upside down, it means that your artwork must be rotated 180° in layout). Layers may be viewed and hidden, but the layers are locked to avoid accidental movement of these important markers. It is strongly suggested that the layers remain locked and unaltered at all times.

foldfactory.com builds templates to your custom specifications. The templates are fully-compensated for the folding process using industry-approved settings. Simply start designing—with the confidence that your file is production-perfect.
